Walking Meditation

Standard

Angkor-Wat       Do you sometimes have trouble meditating? I do… My “monkey” mind jumps around like a fish out of water. There is no fast way to correct it. However, walking meditation helps. Pick a peaceful place, it is best to be alone, just yourself and nature. Walk and enjoy the majesty that surrounds you. Breathe in the fresh, fully oxygenated air. Thank the Creator for the beauty of your surroundings. Listen to the sounds of animals…. You can transport yourself to a mystical place if you relax and let your soul guide you.

If you feel comfortable doing it, you can stop to rest. (Find a flat rock or even bring a folding chair with you.) Sit with your eyes closed and breathe slowly through your nose. Only allow happy thoughts to enter your mind. If negative thoughts invade your mind, ask them to leave. Try to recall the events in your life that made you smile. A single smile helps relieve stress, and renews the tired soul.  🙂
